The gb Meesenburg OHG group – the partner for trades and industry – can already look back on over 250 years of company history. Our oldest roots go back to 1758 in Flensburg, making it one of the oldest trading companies in northern Germany. The company, which now has over 600 employees, is one of the few remaining family businesses, and is now one of the market leaders. We are a classic medium-sized family enterprise. The 20 branches each have their roots securely in their respective regions. Over the centuries the company has developed from shipping and overseas trade, retailing and wholesaling to a supplier for the wood, plastic and metal processing industry and associated trades.

The company’s activities do not just extend to Germany’s borders. German reunification opened up the new federal states and also the Eastern bloc. We have fully owned subsidiaries in Russia and the Czech Republic, and distribution operations in other Eastern bloc countries. Joint managing directors of the general trading partnership (OHG) are Martin Meesenburg (Flensburg) and Rainer Prante (Gütersloh). In 2007 the company took over Geniatec which is now run independently as a sister company to gb Meesenburg oHG.
